Meet Nick Hall

How did you end up being a successful personal development and mind coach?
I had a long-term illness that left me with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). I learnt so much through that period of adversity. I started to change my ways, my habits, my behaviours and the way that I managed my thinking on a daily basis. Unable to work full-time I ended up travelling to Africa for 8 months and working for a charity helping street children in Tanzania, at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. This was the biggest turning point in my life. It really put things into perspective. Whatever I was experiencing, these amazing kids were enduring 10 times worse. The children on the street were alone, malnourished and terrified and the organisation I worked for (Amani) took them in, provided them with support, love, education, care, repatriation and the opportunity to smile again. I realised then just how powerful it was to be a part of a supportive and secure environment. The children started to grow, thrive and make massive strides towards fulfilling their potential. It was whilst climbing Kilimanjaro (which nearly finished me off!) and raising money for the kids that I realised that I wanted to become a top-notch coach on my return to the

Who has inspired you in life?
The kids at Amani were certainly a huge inspiration, the way they excelled after such hardship; showing such tenacity and endurance through such an ordeal. The people who educated me as a coach, Philip Brew and Colin Brett, were geniuses and a real catalyst to my development. Furthermore, the likes of Anthony Robins and Lewis Howes have such great energy and passion for personal development.
My great Uncle Ken, who was just a wonderful, brilliant, traditional Englishmen full of fantastic expressions and who was a wonderful character and superb company. Just to sit in his presence and listen to his conversations was an absolute joy.
And finally my Geography teacher from my younger years, Paddy Dudgeon, who made learning fun, visual and thoroughly engaging. I hope that I can pass on that same level of expertise and engagement.

What gets you leaping out of bed each day?
It is having that sense of purpose and direction, having something exciting that you are wanting to achieve and having a clear vision in order to reach your goals. When you have the wind in your sails, a great sense of purpose…you literally want to fly out of bed every morning. Everything about life becomes exciting and fun!

What are your passions in life?
Aside from helping people get the best out of life I love to be surrounded by great friends and having entertaining conversations. I’m partial to a nice glass of wine and I’m in my element sitting outside under the sun. Sport, comedy and cooking also tickle my senses and put a big smile on my face.

If you live your life in the past you experience regret and if you live your life in the future, you’ll experience anxiety. Enjoy each day for what it is and squeeze every ounce of fun out of it.
